What is Cold-Process (CP) Soap?

Cold process soap is making soap the slow, original, or traditional way by combining oil with sodium hydroxide lye. You can then blend in essential oils and colorants as required. This process causes a chemical reaction called saponification which takes 48-72 hours. Then after an additional slow curing process of about 4-6 weeks, we have what is known as soap.

What is Melt and Pour (MP) Soap?

Melt and Pour soap is an easier way to make customized soap without handling sodium hydroxide lye, which is a caustic chemical that requires safety gear and handling. You essentially take a pre-made soap that has already been through the saponification process which you melt down. Then you can add your own scents and colorants. Next, you pour into a mold to harden and let it cure for 4-24 hours. 

What is Babassu Oil?

Babassu oil is a tropical vegetable oil that is a clear light yellow and made from the seeds of the babassu palm. The babassu palm is a tree that grows in the rain forest and is native to the Amazon region of South America.This lightweight palm oil has antioxidants and healthy fatty acids, making it similar to coconut oil but it does not clog your pores.

What is Kokum Butter?

Kokum butter is an oil that has a light gray or pale yellow tint. It is derived from the seeds of a fruit-bearing tree called the kokum tree or formally known as Garcinia indica which is found in the tropical regions of India. Kokum butter is known for its light-weight, moisturizing properties. Because it can be easily absorbed into the skin, you don’t have a greasy feeling after application. It can be used to improve the moisture content of almost every part of the body, including your skin and lips.
